Consider a Wedding Scrapbook

By: Tom1 White1

When you speak to any seasoned scrapbooking hobbyist you will find that any one of them would tell you that he hardest and most important scrap book they have ever and will ever work on is that of their wedding scrapbook. Not only is this one of your most special days, but it is perhaps the most momentous occasion you will ever partake in. From fancy clothes to limousines, you want it all to be just perfect. And for many people the pressure this puts on you can make a very enjoyable project turn horrible. However, for those of you that have not yet been tainted by these scare tactics, here are some great tips to live by when considering your own wedding scrapbook.

First and foremost it is important to spend time well in advance on this project. And with this you need to do more than think as you need to put some plans into action and get results beforehand. For example, you will want to make decisions like whether or not your digital scrapbooking will concentrate on one specific part of the weeding or on the entire wedding party. You may even find that you want to do a separate wedding scrapbook for each part of the wedding. However, in the end you will want to know these details ahead of time so that you can help instruct the picture takers.

Next you will want to make sure you get your color scheme all picked out. This tends to be the easiest part as most weddings already have a pre set color scheme. Just remember that any other colors you use for your layout and pages will need to compliment the chosen wedding theme colors. What’s more, a great scrapbooking idea for this type of themed project would be to use solid colors like black or white to set as the background. This allows for a classy touch as well as the fact that both colors will blend with any other color. Furthermore, it does not hurt to take a look at other wedding scrapbook ideas that others have done to help get your creative juices flowing.

Once you have done all the prep work you can then relax until after the wedding. This is when you will then need to go through all your pictures and memorabilia to decide what will stay on the chopping block and what will be added to your wedding story. But remember, when it comes to memorabilia it can be tricky to know what is what. For example, the top three things you will always want to keep in your scrapbook would be your wedding invitation, fabric from your dress and those of your wedding party, and finally, such smaller additions like some place cards or printed napkins also make a great addition to your wedding scrapbook memories. And finally, when it comes to making this book really memorable you will want to make sure you do the right amount of journaling.
